The Story Behind the Pictures 

The images in this collection were taken at our home in Dallas one early October morning.   That summer, we had planted a little Morning Glory starter near the picket fence that surrounds my favorite garden. By autumn, it had climbed high and wide, covering the fence in  a tangle of green and bursts of brilliant blue.

That same October, I was recovering from hip surgery.  Each morning, I made my slow way outside—camera in one hand, walker in the  other, drawn by the quiet splendor of those blooms. Every day brought new blossoms, each unfurling with the sunrise and closing again by  afternoon, their rhythm steady and sure.

They became a kind of companion through recovery, reminding me of the faithful patterns God has woven into creation. The sun rises, the seasons turn, new beauty always comes. Morning Glories have their brief, shining moment each day, and perhaps that is their gift: they give us a glimpse of His beauty, a momentary pulling back of the veil  that hides His full glory.
